Local and National Grocery Delivery Services Grocery Delivery Services Whole Foods/Amazon – Download app or order on the website. www.amazon.comAmazon Fresh – Need to be an Amazon Prime MemberCan be used from Amazon App or www.amazon.com/freshAmazon Fresh include many more generic and “mainstream” brands and household items. NOTE: They offer curbside pickup at some Whole Foods locations. EXPERIENCE Overall: I am a Whole Foods shopper, so finding the products and online shopping experience is easy for me. Their substitution process is good and notification process excellent. They pack the perishables carefully and in heat and cold resistant packaging. Placing the Order:You are ordering for same day or sometimes next day delivery. They do not allow you to book out the delivery. It has not been easy to find time slots for delivery. It has taken a lot of patience and refreshing the order to confirm the order. However, I have never not been successful over the course of a day to find a slot. There is no magic hour to place the order. Supposedly they refresh at Midnight, so if you are a late night person, it’s a good time to try. 3. You can try it for $14.99/mo.Newton Stores Covered by Shipt Include: Target, CVS, Shaws, Star Market, Sudbury Farms, Brothers Marketplace EXPERIENCE:Overall – My experience has been great. They seem to have slots open for same day and next day service at multiple stores. Additionally, “My Shopper” called me while shopping to discuss substitutions and additions. They walked thru the store with me and saved me both time and money on items. 4. The con is hard to find same day and immediate slots, but you can book out. Also, there are many store options through Instacart.NOTE: There have been several complaints on Next Door Digest regarding Instacart marking items up and not being transparent with their pricing. It’s a good idea to check your receipts and reach out to customer service if you have issues or require refunds. 5. Peapod – Download the app or use the website –www.peapod.com. They have delivered to me multiple times in 20 minutes. They are perfect when you need something basic or a snack in a hurry or wine. Craving that Talenti Gelato, they have it – chips or bottle of wine…they have it. They have had toilet paper, paper towels and sanitizing items throughout this time period. They have no produce, but have a great assortment of snack, grocery and personal health type items. You can order for as little as $8.95. 7. Mercato – specialty food markets and farm deliveryEXPERIENCE: 1-2 day delivery – varying charges for delivery based on distance. There are not that many local stores that they deliver from at this point. However, if you are willing to pay some delivery fees that are upwards of $20 for specialty items plus a monthly fee, worth a try. Newton Stores Covered by Mercato Include: Inna’s Kitchen and Captain Marden’s. I believe Volante Farms will be using them for ordering and curbside pick up as well.
